A hand up turned handout, shattering dreams ...

SNAP

11/2/25

[Verse 1]

They took your liberty, oh so sly,

Sold it back to you with a compassionate lie.

SNAP's the game, but it's not what it seems,

A hand up turned handout, shattering dreams.

When the shutdown hits and the funding runs dry,

Ain't no crime in the law, just a federal tie.

Antideficiency Act, that's the rule of the land,

Can't spend a dime without Congress's hand.

[Chorus]

Oh, they twist the truth, call it a right,

But the Constitution's clear in black and white.

Negative freedoms, that's what we got,

Speech and religion, property's lot.

No promise of food, no roof overhead,

Positive rights? Just words in your head.

Be grateful while you need it, use it to rise,

But remember, darlin', it's all compromise.

[Verse 2]

Blame the firefighter when the water's shut off?

That's the spin they're sellin', but it's all a scoff.

Democrats holdin' hostages, usin' your pain,

Leverage in the game, drivin' you insane.

Freedom to pursue, that's the American way,

Socialism's illusion, makin' you pay.

You're not owed a thing, constitutionally free,

Wake up from the dependency, come see with me.

[Bridge]

Politicians preachin', "Food's a human right,"

But they're rewritin' history in the dead of night.

Trade your liberty for a safety net's chain,

Now you're dancin' to their tune in the pourin' rain.

No one's entitled, that's the hard, cold fact,

Set aside the blackmail, get the government back.

[Chorus]

Oh, they twist the truth, call it a right,

But the Constitution's clear in black and white.

Negative freedoms, that's what we got,

Speech and religion, property's lot.

No promise of food, no roof overhead,

Positive rights? Just words in your head.

Be grateful while you need it, use it to rise,

But remember, darlin', it's all compromise.

[Outro]

Share the hope, not the fear, in this jazz-filled night,

Liberty's callin', step into the light.

They sold your freedom, but now you know the score,

Break the chains of dependency forevermore.
