It shouldn't surprise me, but it does. I should understand but maybe I don't.
The Biden-Harris administration funded and facilitated the human invasion across our southern border. This resulted in a sharp rise in drug running and overdoses, crime, and fraud. Now, the Left is fighting to keep criminal illegal aliens on our streets. In fact, their committing crimes to help keep the criminals here.
Is it me?
The Left bastardizes language to warp young minds (and old ones, apparently), leftist "leaders" promote violence, disrespect, disunity, and their rhetoric puts law enforcement lives at risk. It's beyond disgraceful.
This isn't the America I was born into and it's not even the same country it was just 15 years ago. And we are not a better country for it.
This piece was inspired by a social media post by Bob Lonsberry. See below.
This Badge is Worn
[Verse 1]
This badge is worn, missing luster, missing shine,
Been through the cells, through the alleys, through time.
It’s seen the faces that the law must face,
Bearing the words of a Congress in place.
It’s chipped and scarred, but it still belongs,
To the ones holding up what’s written in songs.
Through the cold steel bars and the courthouse lights,
It stood for order on sleepless nights.
[Chorus]
This badge is worn — not broken, not gone,
It carries the weight of right and wrong.
Now they call it names, they curse and scorn,
But through the fire, still, this badge is worn.
[Verse 2]
They say the streets are echoing rage,
A thousand posts on a digital page.
Voices clashing in a storm untamed,
But duty’s not just a word that’s framed.
You can spit your hate, burn your sign,
But laws don’t bend to a protest line.
This is America — built by hands,
Not by mobs or shifting sands.
[Chorus]
This badge is worn — not broken, not gone,
It carries the weight of right and wrong.
Now they call it names, they curse and scorn,
But through the fire, still, this badge is worn.
[Bridge]
Go home, my friend, look around, take heed,
Freedom’s built on those who bleed.
Change the law with your vote, not rage,
Write justice on the ballot page.
Not sheep, not pawns, not herded crowds,
But hearts that stand and speak out loud.
Be Americans — proud, reborn,
That’s what this badge was always worn for.
[Final Chorus]
This badge is worn — silver and torn,
It’s carried through storms since the day I was sworn.
In the land of free where faith is born,
I am the watch — and this badge is worn.
[Outro]
So curse me, praise me, night or morn,
But this badge — this badge —
Is worn.
